Essential Things For Success

There is one thing that is probably THE MOST fundamental thing;

- For reaching your goal!

- Stay motivated!

- Keep up your exercise!

- Curb cravings!

- Keep your mood in check!

To only mention a few things, believe me there is many, many more.

The best thing is that it is FREE!! Technically you could do it anywhere but, probably not recommended.

You probably starting to wonder what can it be, this amazing thing that is also FREE.

This my friends is SLEEP!!! Probably the most underestimated thing, yes I know it is boring to go to bed, you rather sit up to watch another episode or film on NETFLIX. I get it, I do this too, my intension are good. TONIGHT I'm going to bed early, so I finally get up on time, to do my yoga and meditation.

This happen way to many times then I like to admit ;) The thing is though, it is a habit and like any other habit, in the beginning you need to be a bit stricter, it takes 20 days to form a habit.

Going to bed can really single-handedly solve a lot of your issues, for myself being a yoga teacher also means I need to keep up my practice (luckily I love practicing, but I also love my bed), to be able to fit this in ,it works best for me to do it early in the morning before going to work and when my teenagers are still asleep (this one is getting easier and easier as they like sleeping, well at least in the mornings).

If I don't do it in the morning it is a very small chance, that I get time to do it in the evening and yes I can skip the TV, but honestly most evenings I don't even have time for that.

The thing is if I don't go to bed early, I'm most likely to snooze the alarm for ONE HOUR yes this happens regularly. It happens way more times then I like to admit ;) and then I regret it as I don't have time for both meditation and yoga. Starting the day with my practice is just amazing, it just feels great and set you up for the day.

This all start with going to bed early. Then it is easy, well easier to get up in the morning and then I get my things done or at least it is a way bigger chance I do.

The thing is though, it is a habit and in the beginning you need to be a bit stricter, it takes 20 days to form a habit. If you starting to go to bed early, it is getting easier as the body expect it when you have a regular bedtime routine.

There is a very good reason that we establish a bedtime routine for kids, what happen when kids doesn't get enough sleep? They get VERY CRANKY!! this also happens to adult, of course we can hide it, well most of the time anyway.

Lack of sleep also affects our food choices, when you are tired we all know how

easy it is to go for the quick, not so good foods as we are to tired, and this becomes a vicious circle.

It also promotes weight gain, not only because you crave more sweet stuff, but it does affect your hormones.

It affect our cognitive performance( you can read about it here ). Lack of sleep can also lead to Alzheimer down the line, more about that here.

The power of sleep is totally underestimated!! If there is one thing you change pick SLEEP as many other things will fall in to place :)

With Gratitude

Nina
